A traditional Ganga Aarti, usually associated with the ghats of Varanasi, Haridwar and Rishikesh, is coming to London’s River Thames this September. The cultural event will be held at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich on September 13, 2026, bringing together Indian food, music, dance and community activities. The main Ganga Aarti will begin at 7:15 pm on the Royal Steps at sunset, with lamps, chanting and devotional music creating a symbolic connection between the Ganga and the Thames. The event is being organised by Chinmaya Mission UK with Totally Thames and will be open to everyone.
